good4great:

2nd book of the summer finished! Since moving and starting my new job I feel like I’ve had so much more time to read. Being in the mountains/having no school work motivates me to read apparently. It’s so nice to find a bench somewhere along one of the trails and just sit and read…
I finished F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic “The Great Gatsby”. Can’t believe it took me this long to read it. I started it a few summers back but never got around to finishing it. I regret not reading it before news of the movie came out. It’s hard to imagine the characters yourself when you already know which Hollywood stars have been cast in the movie.
I would say I enjoyed it but I’m having a hard time deciphering whether I really liked it for my own reasons or because it is a literary classic. I couldn’t help feeling like I was supposed to like it. I will say that by the end I was hooked and couldn’t put it down so I suppose that’s a good sign.
I found the characters sort of annoyed me if that makes sense. Maybe that’s the idea. I just couldn’t relate to them. It didn’t make me think or feel in the way some books do. But with that being said I’m happy to check it off my list.  Posted 1 week ago • 14 notes • reblog

I wish that I had done everything on earth with you.
